Stakeholder Meeting Provided on SDG Investor Mapping

To achieve sustainable development in Azerbaijan the implementation of the "Integrated National Financing Framework" (INFF) program was initiated by UNDP and the Government of Azerbaijan. Within the framework of the program "SDG Investor Mapping" is being realized in cooperation with the Istanbul International Center for the Development of the Private Sector of the UN.
On March 9, with the joint initiative of the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Economy and the United Nations Development Program an event on the research of the "SDG Investor Mapping" and the Investment Ecosystem was held.
Sahib Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Economy, emphasized that the implementation of commitments on global SDGs is one of the important components of the state policy in Azerbaijan, and noted that the state programs, strategies and action plan covering the social, economic, and environmental fields in the country are integrated into the goals and objectives of the SDGs. The deputy minister said that, the partnership between the state, private sector and international organizations will contribute to the fulfillment of commitments on SDGs and the transition to a "green economy".

New Opportunities in Social Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan

The European Union (EU) and UNDP organised a 5-day intensive business development training programme for some social entrepreneurs and the civil society organisations (CSOs) interested in starting up a social business in Azerbaijan.
As part of the EU-funded project in support of the CSOs, the programme brought together over 30 social entrepreneurs and activists from Aghdam, Baku, Ganja, Lankaran, Neftchala and Sheki. The training participants come from diverse backgrounds ranging from support and fund-raising platforms to CSOs engaged in local development and working with vulnerable communities.
The purpose of this programme is to teach fundamentals of business development to social entrepreneurs. The participants are expected to improve their understanding of social business and related concepts, and develop practical skills in idea generation, business design and planning, sales & marketing, as well as measuring and reporting social impact of their businesses.

Call for Participation in the Ideation Bootcamp to Generate Innovative Business Solutions to Social Problems

This Call for Expression of Interest is launched to invite social entrepreneurs, socially oriented businesses and civil society organizations in an IDEATION BOOT CAMP. The primary goal of the ideation boot camp is to encourage creative thinking and generate innovative business ideas that bring income and help address Sustainable Development Goals SDGs challenges.
In order to be eligible for participation, the participants must:
- operate in the Republic of Azerbaijan
- be registered as an individual entrepreneur, or non-profit organization, or limited liability company, in accordance with the national legislation
- have social or environmental mission
